I have been receiving text messages till very late last night (or let me say very early today - as early as 4:00AM) I mean what about non-Kuwaitis who cannot vote, or people who are not registered... Its annoying!

Below are some examples of silly ones (I tried to translate it to English in the best way possible so some of it might be lost in translation):

1. Vote for a Kuwaiti like you! (and I say... what about all the other candidates? aren't they all Kuwaitis? Duhhhh!)

2. You are invited TONIGHT -May 17th- for the final Dinner! (and I say: Yeah uh huh sure!! I cant believe all this is over, are you kidding me!! TONIGHT!!!)

3. Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Daughter, and Son! I need you all! (and I say: it kinda reminded me of Halima Boland's silly incident.. I want mommy.. daddy I want my hubby)

4. Your vote count, vote for your sister -Newspaper Name-! (and I say: Now what!!! Newspapers???)

5. I am oppressed so I need triumph! (and I seriously say: WHAT?)

6. Those who do not testify with falsity! (and I say: are you saying I have to vote for you because you are the best Muslim ever?)

7. It isnt just a rumor, but its a "testimony"! (and I say... yes! Sure!!!)

8. My sister, women have the right to at least one of your four votes! (and I say... yeah WOW GO GIRL POWER! even if you dont deserve it!!)

The countries, including America, should rectify their mistakes." Bhattacherjee said, "It is preposterous for anyone to say that global food crisis, including in America, is because of Indians.

It is needless to say what the Indians get to eat or what they (Americans) eat. This only shows how he has lost his senses.

" Condemning Bush, the BJP also attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his silence on Bush's remarks and said it would raise the issue in Parliament on Monday. Calling the PM's "silence" as shameful, BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is behaving like an officer on deputation.

He has been a total failure on domestic as well as foreign fronts. He should at least stand up to protect the country's honour and dignity.

The Arabian Gulf Vs. The Persian Gulf

As I am flipping through Al Qabas pages (yes I was actually scanning! Too tired to read thoroughly LOL) I came across this piece of news -page 83- showing some Iranian students protesting in front of UAE Embassy in Tehran for changing the Gulf's name!

The debate whether this gulf is Arabian or Persian is rather intriguing!
What makes more sense to you!? To refere it as Arabian because there are more Arabian countries on that gulf or Persian as its been called for thousands of years?

Imad Mughniyeh

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter!

The name of Imad Mughniyeh appeared once again in the headlines!!!!!!!!!!

How can we mourn the death of a terrorist, who was responsible for hijackings and the US and Kuwait Embassies bombings, and who killed so many innocent people!

Is the word "Martyr" so easy to give today! Why is he being called a martyr!

Who is involved here! Mossad? CIA? Hezbollah? the US? Assad?
I dont really care! He is gone!!

What I am worried about is the aftermath! His death may lead to get more people killed in retaliation than when he was alive! People mouring his death after what he did... and the mixed responses to that! The chaos!!


FLIP:
He killed innocents and was responsible for several bombings/hijacks in Kuwait... and also participated in releasing criminals imprisoned in Kuwait!

FLOP:
He is dead now! People in Kuwait are mourming the death of the "Martyr"! They forgot all the "FLIP"

Aunt Benazir's false promises - By Fatima Bhutto

Fatima Bhutto (Benazir's niece) complains about the mambo jumbo about her aunt saving Pakistan and how wrong it is that the media is strongly showing support to her! She write about it in the LA Times - November 14 (to read the article click here).

I strongly believe that Benazir is gaining support from the media being a Muslim female that is in danger from all the extremists there... that is because the media shows Muslim females as hopeless and helpless in many cases! They ignore the fact that she is hated because she is guilty of corruption and not because she is a rebellious female trying to save Pakistan (Lets not forget the fact that she has been PM twice before so its nothing against females in Pakistan.. Seriously)!!!!

Well... apparently its common for people in the world of politics (and life as a whole) that if someone's popularity goes deep down they do an act or two... just so they gain it back!

It goes; Crazy but true-some racist with a Tennessee IP address constructed a fake CNN website, with a fake story about "radical Hispanic separatist organization" taking responsibilty for setting the fires with "Moltov Cocktails" because "Altzan belongs to indigenous people, the Chicanas and Chicanos of Altazan"

Kuwaitize Saud Port and Saudize Al Khafji Port

Read this article. Its in Arabic, though it is talking about some mutual trades in lands between Kuwait and Saudi when those lands belong to Kuwaiti!!!!!

It goes...

The possibility of Saudi Arabia giving “the Port of King Saud” to the Kuwaitis for that the geographical distance of the port is within Kuwaiti borders (considering the sovereign depth that Kuwait falls within), while Kuwait will give “Al-Khafji” port to the Saudis, which is an oil rich port! The discussions will raise to borderline that litigant area.

The “Port of King Saud” is notorious for raising question marks between the two countries (Kuwait and Saudi) especially that it was taking this classical move since 30+ years.

After liberating Garooh Island of Kuwait in 1991, the Saudi Arabian Navy raised their Saudi flag on the island (the first Kuwaiti land to be liberated), and this issue went into some political and disputable issues and that file was shut quietly to keep a good relation between the two countries.

The question is.. How much longer do we have to keep quiet and shut such issues quietly before our flag is replaced???

Viva La France

So, Jacques Chirac will say "au revoir" after 12 years as head of state! I am guessing there will be erratic outcomes this year!

Nicolas Sarkozy (right) and Ségolène Royal (left) are the two main candidates for the next elections.

Sarkozy! A reformist conservative and Pro-American (Another Tony Blaire)... He is the head of the right-of-the center party, the French conservatives (Union pour un Mouvement Populaire).

Royal, on the other hand... a simple feminist socialist figure, will only shake Bush's hand after telling hime what she thought of his policies... so her attitude towards the US will be "cool but friendly" She will, if she wins, bring a new France to live with the first female president.

Royal had a strong start. However when she started informing people of her thoughts and suggestions on foreign policies and affairs, they became concerned where will all that take France when speaking on the international level.

As for Sarkozy, when he officially announced his aspirations he then was behind her, but when people started to become concerned of Royal's thoughts and suggestions, Sarkozy jumped into the front runner seat.

Is Royal embedded so deep in the elite of the French socialist party?!?!

The French are still lost, with 40% undecided yet! As I said in the beginning.. erratic outcomes may surface and I wouldn't leave Bayrou outside this fight...
