"Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May" is a poem by Robert Herrick. This poem portrays our existence on earth, and that people age as life goes on, and everything becomes boundless. Herrick here urges people to take advantage of youth and energy while they may! The poem is in the genre of carpe diem, to seize the day.

Fruits & Passion - II

OK so I took my time to complete this Fruits & Passion review (for Part I click here) to try the products for some time and I love it! I love so many things about those product.... I cant wait to go and buy me other types and scents. I remember once over coffee my friends were talking about such products and in which scents one prefer their products, soaps, candles, lotions, cream..... When it was my turn, I was like fig, ginger, spices.... I did not even finish my sentence and everyone was laughing :-P YES! I was told that I sounded like an old British lady with my taste in that matter...

For example, I would so get the following products;

And you know what? I would keep on going of the things I wanna buy and try from their website! So I better stop here and go back to reviewing :-P

What was left of the products in the basket were a metallic pink bag with shower gel, body cream, and a tiny eau de toilette bottle in Guava & Grapefruit scent. I would have loved it much more without the grapefruit smell. It was so strong that I did not feel the guava, but then again I have the taste of an old British lady!

Now for the remaining products I have Rich Hand Cream and Cream Hand Soap in peach. What can I say?! I loved both so much, specially the hand soap. It really is creamy and is not drying my hands.. a problem I had with my previous hand soap! I honestly felt a difference here :-) Oh and the smell of the peaches is awesome! I wonder how would the green apple soap is like now!

As for the last products I got; the Body Milk Lotion and Foaming Bath Cream (also in peach).. they were as good as the hand cream and soap (creams are usually richer and thicker than lotions. Lotions are more liquidy... just to give you an idea of the main difference between the two products - Click here for more info). The foaming bath followed by the body milk lotion left my skin feeling soft and velvety! My only problem with those two products were the sealing of the product, which was really annoying to open and try... I had to use a Swiss knife, and the neck of the bottle as one of my friends explained as not so easy to apply. Seeing me complaining about such in consequential details would give you an idea of the things I did not like about it... which is basically nothing... its awesome!

After one of my favorite stores closed down in Kuwait, Rituals, I could not find any other store to replace it.... But now I am gonna go ahead and give Fruits & Passion a go and try other products they have since they do cater my "Old British Lady" taste ;-)

For those of you who thought the store closed down, it did not and you can buy stuff from their online store or visit The Candle Light Spa in Al Shaab Seaside. For those of you who never tried their products before, I highly recommend it... they come in wide range of scents and variety of product from body and face to kitchen and ambiance... and more :-)

Fruits & Passion - I

A reader of my blog contacted me few days back and wanted to gift me a basket from Fruits & Passion to review.

Fruits & Passion is a global company head quartered in Canada with a local seller in Kuwait. They specialize in body and face care, fragrances, ambiance, kitchen, and more.

Of course I did not mind since I am into all of the above hehehe and I came home yesterday to a basket of goodies :-)

Here I am posting some pictures, I have tried the shea lip butter, the room spray, and the candle. So stay tuned for more on it.... I am planning on using more of the stuff this weekend since we have a girls get together and I will be getting a bigger feedback.

As soon as I opened the bag, I took out the basket and could not help but notice the amazing smell of the products... they were still wrapped in plastic.

I unwrapped the gift and snapped away some pictures. An item after the other, examining each and smelling'em too! I was on my way to go to my grandma's house, so I put on some of that Shea lip butter, it was what I needed the most at the time because my lips were kinda getting dry and I did not have any chap sticks or so. So ok, I applied some at around 11:00am and its now 2:30 and my lips are still moist but not sticky :-D I went on the site and checked other fragrances/shades and man! I wanna get them all... Besides Shea they have them in Avocado, Monoi, Moringa, and Cocoa... AVOCADO! I bet that one is AWESOME! Each will leave a sheer gloss! This item is gonna be in my bag now... I love it, absolutely a MUST HAVE for this summer ;-)

I lit the candle in my bathroom and sprayed some room spray.... I decided to sneak into two of my sisters rooms and sprayed in some more. The candle to be quite honest did not emit very strong scent, it was just okay! The spray on the other hand was wonderful... the one I have is Fruit of the Islands scented.

First sister reaction:
She walks into her room and goes: "hmmmm whats that smell? Hmmmm, it smells like Herbal Essence shampoo". And she's right! You know that smell? Its awesome! Its a mix of fruits and spices and hmmmmm... it is so good!

My other sister:
She goes in, put her bag on the side table and stand in the middle.... She ask me: "Ansam!! What kind of room spray are they using these days?" She did not look happy or angry, she had that poker face on... I tell her its from the gift basket, and she goes: "ITS AMAZING! Can we use some for our lounge when the girls come in?" I am thinking OK thats perfect... more reactions to test.

I have more products to test and try out so stay tuned... I am in love with it so far!

I Found Eden

I have been trying many nail bars since the one I like is always "fully booked" and smoking friendly.. I like to go do my nails in a quiet nice relaxing atmosphere, and I can finally say I found "IT"... I am in love with Eden Salon & Spa. I was told about this place from my friend Allison some time ago, but it was earlier today that I decided to take an appointment and go. It was raining so my hair was all wet, I took an appointment for hair brushing/blow dry, and pedicure/manicure (cost: KD17 in total).

Their pedicure and manicure were oh-so-good... first they start with scrubbing and cleaning both; your hands and feet, apply some relaxing lotion, wrap'em in nylon, then put'em in cotton socks/gloves -as a mask- while doing your nails in the same time.... they are open fingers gloves/open toes socks... after you're done with that, they massage'em for you :-)

The place is clean, the staff are super nice and friendly.... their equipment are clean and sterilized... something I really look into before doing my nails. I can easily say now that Eden will be my new salon :-) I highly recommend it ladies.

Other services, besides hair and nails, are tanning, slimming machines, make-up, facials, massages and much more!!

Its located across the street from WOW Caterers, and their phone numbers are: 2241-9556 & 2241-9557

Note: Pictures are taken from their facebook group.

My Toe!

I needed to have pedicure and manicure SO BAD.. so I called Nailtini for the 100,000,000,000,000 time (not really, but you get the idea) and they are fully booked on the times I like... their free openings are pretty late for me to go get treatment and relax, and I am starting to hate the fact that they welcome smokers! Whatta an atmosphere to relax. My second option is of course Queenails, but they are also fully booked (specially with Eid around the corner). So Foolishly I went ahead and booked an appointment in X nail salon that I heard was good, but never tried before or knew someone who actually tried it!

My manicure was not bad, but while I was getting my pedicure done, I felt pain while she was removing my cuticles! It felt like she was clipping the toe itself rather than the nail/cuticle!

I was wearing flip-flops... with no direct pressure on that toe, I went home and woke up the next day in pain! I changed for work and wore my closed toe shoes and it started to hurt... with time, I had to stay bare foot when sitting on my desk.. The pain kept getting worse and worse! I decided to do something about it.

I went fully dressed to the New Mowasat Hospital for my friend's baby reception, thinking I will pass by the ER on my way out to get some meds. The receptionist is TOO RUDE by the way! I dont know why he acted so unprofessional! Was it because I did not look sick and was too dressed to be in the ER or he was PMSing (I feel that SOME men DO have PMSing symptoms)... Well anyway, I was transfered to a general surgeon! Yes! It was not a nice harmless cut in my toe after all.

Anyway... the doctor was super nice and very friendly. He took swaps for tests in the labs and gave me some antibiotic and ointment. He also cut the swelling and cleaned it for me. I did not feel much pain and he was cheerful and talking to me randomly about stuff the whole time. He even asked me to take some pictures LOL!

Now... the question is... Should I just say it out loud! The Nail Salon name? Or should I keep my mouth shut? Should I call them up and complain!!!

Just Another Queen Day!

I have missed my friend's birthday last month and tried to make it up to her last night. I asked her to come in for a girls night in, just me and her.. she wanted to do her nails and of course my best bet was to arrange something with Queenails.

So at 5:50PM she arrived and I have picked out a purple cake (that was the Bree within me, because we have a purple lounge/room in our house and I like to coordinate colors and stuff...!!) but just in case she would not like it, I brought in some mini cakes from Opera (YUMMMMM) in other flavors heehee ;-)

At 6:00PM, Queenails staff came in. I tried "Her Majesty, the Queen" this time... another amazing experience... out of this world! I swear! I couldnt even go out for dinner with my friend because I was in a relaxed, stay at home, mood! heehee

I cant tell you how much I love their service :-) Those two hours of pampering were so worth it.. and my friend LOVED it too :-) YAAY

Queenails

OK, so how many times you needed to have your nails done but did not really feel like changing, driving, looking for a parking spot, and most importantly (at least to me) finding the the right slippers to wear that wont ruin your pedicure!

I am guessing the answer is "SO MANY TIMES"

So how about being a queen for an hour or two at the comfort of your house? Sounds good? You bet!!

I have received a gift voucher from the owner of Queenails to try out their luxurious home service.

Two ladies came in to my house with a black suitcase and some fuchsia pink ribbons tied on every zipper... I guided them to my room. They asked me where I would be sitting and I pointed at the sofa in my room before I left to get them something to drink, and when I returned my room was turned into a spa in less than two minutes!!

I sat down admiring the new atmosphere I was in...

Spa-like music
Lavender incense
Candles
Large bowl with fuchsia rose petals and hot stones

I sat down thinking... wow! that was fast and impressive! She offered me tea (I actually had to pick the flavor I wanted).. all this happened when I left the room for two short minutes.. and its all self-sufficient! They have brought everything they needed with them, including the water to fill the bowls and for the tea..

So I sat down on my sofa, admiring their work, and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere..
They started with cutting and filing.. then lavender scrub, followed by a lavender mask... and, this is the best part, a shoulder massage before I chose the colors for the nail polishes!

The ladies were quiet most of the time, just asking me to relax and/or if I was comfortable at most. The music was soothing, and so was the lavender smell.. This was one helluva treat I got! Just what I needed! A quiet afternoon treatment at the comfort of my home!

Would I try it again!? Definitely! I dont mind being "her Majesty, the Queen" for another couple of hours now would I!?!!

I recommend it girls!! Pick up your phone and call them on 508-0746
