The Arabian Gulf Vs. The Persian Gulf

As I am flipping through Al Qabas pages (yes I was actually scanning! Too tired to read thoroughly LOL) I came across this piece of news -page 83- showing some Iranian students protesting in front of UAE Embassy in Tehran for changing the Gulf's name!

The debate whether this gulf is Arabian or Persian is rather intriguing!
What makes more sense to you!? To refere it as Arabian because there are more Arabian countries on that gulf or Persian as its been called for thousands of years?

According to Wikipedia:

Since the 1960s with the rise of Arab nationalism (Pan-Arabism), starting with Gamal Abdel Nasser's Arab Republic of Egypt, some Arab countries, including the ones bordering the Persian Gulf, have adopted the term "Arabian Gulf" to refer to the waterway. This is controversial and not commonly used outside of the Arab world, nor is it recognized by the United Nations and other international organizations. The United Nations on many occasions has requested that only "Persian Gulf" be used as the official and standard geographical designation for the body of water. "Arabian Gulf" is also an ancient name for the Red Sea.Hecataeus (472 to 509 B.C.) can be stated where Persian Gulf and Arabian Gulf (Red Sea) have been clearly shown. Also a map has remained from Herodotus, the great Greek historian (425-484 B.C.) which introduces Red Sea as the Arabian Gulf.....

Bom Chicka WahWah

I am in LOVE with AXE add campaign(S)
Are you?

Here n There

I was running around all day like a headless chicken... enjoying most of it but also got very tired in the end!

My parents and sister left early this morning... heading to London, so I had an early breakfast.... I also promised my nephews to go get their ceramics from Color me Mine. So it was a busy morning, my phone was switched off most of the time, and when I switched it on my friend and her sister were trying to reach me to invite me for brunch... it was already 12:00PM but I went anyway and had some juice and dessert... stayed there till 3:00ish LOL...

An hour later I went to a spa... stayed there for 2 hrs and 30 minutes! It was nice :-)

I got home and I was starving, my little sister was doing some kinda Mexican salad so I got into the kitchen and ate some nachos and picante sauce + melted cheese with jalapeƱos... I cannot eat/handle spicy food, nor my stomach tolerate that well... but I was hungry and ate anyway till my chest started to wheeze!

Saw my brother in law later in the day and told him I blogged about the ABYAT incident few days back (LOL) so he told me this... Yesterday he had some errands to run in Shuwaikh... just next to ABYAT location, when he decided to bug that security guy again just for the fun of it and went in the parking lot and left doing what he usually do hehehehehe.

Now I am eating my THIRD ice cream (fix) for the day! LOL... addicted????

GUILTY!

Memoirs of a Khunfisana - Ode to Zlaikhah

Submitted by SULI

Ode to Zlaikhah

Oh your cute curiosity,
as you stick your head out of the burrow,
anxiously looking,
for an answer to your deep rooted sorrow,
your shiny head,
as it peeps from beyond the grains,
of the desert sands in which you dwell,
and your streamline back,
secretly sheathing your wings well,

do you think of me when you fly,
oh so high,
soaring in the sky,
free,

do you think of me,
when you are racing down the drain,
do you wonder if you will ever,
see me again?

Oh Zlaikhah,
Oh the good times we've had,
Oh the memories we made,
Oh the times we laughed,
Oh Zlaikhah oh Zlaikhah,
so wild and free,
please agree,
when i ask you to marry me.

A Poem by Isaak (with a 'K')

Amazing Story

In 1986, Dan Harrison (see picture above) was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University.

On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Dan approached it very carefully.

He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant's foot and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it.

As carefully and as gently as he could, Dan worked the wood out with his hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.

The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments.

Dan stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away.

Dan never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Dan was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son.

As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Dan and his son Dan Jr. were standing.

The large bull elephant stared at Dan, lifted its front foot off the ground, and then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Dan couldn't help wondering if this was the same elephant.

Dan summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Dan's legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably wasn't the same elephant.

Thanks Linda :-)

A Dialogue

This took place on my G-Chat earlier today!

Abdulla: off topic.. is Lebanon still without a president?

Ansam: Lebanon! Still.... Without a president!

Abdulla: ok

Ansam: Yesterday there was some kinda fight between Al-Muallim of Syria and the Lebanese delegation
Syrians are getting under the Lebanese's skin! That is Syria + Iran + Hezbullah.. all in the effort to create and stretch the Shiite belt

Abdulla: Tomasha (I think this translates to whatever!)

Ansam: All that effort is in favor to take control of the Islamic world - Stretching the belt from Pakistan to Syria

Abdulla: ok dont need to know more... I am not in the mood

Ansam: lol

Abdulla: all i wanted to know is.... if there is a president

Ansam: I think there is a war coming and this is going to be ONE HOT SUMMER in Lebanon

Abdulla:YES... Tomasha. It could reach us here too!

Ansam: Hezbullah kinda showed that they are ready for a war. You know Iraq's nearby countries (Dowal Al Jiwar)??

Abdulla: What about them?

Ansam: Iraq and surrounding countries

Abdulla: YEAH? What about them?

Ansam: If the US solve things and settle them in Iraq, it will also create some mumbo jumbo

Abdulla: Thats for sure

Ansam: Iran will get UPSET

Abdulla: And Turkey

Ansam: +ve interference... i.e. Kuwait helping Iraq
-ve interference Syria and Iran (Terrorism + Extremists + bombs + disagreements + division among people + schism + secession + upheaval + anarchy) = leave Iraq in flames... so they can say US failed

Abdulla: Man! You really have time to keep up with all the world news.... keeping up with all this nonsense headache news

Ansam: Aside of all this nonsense.... I did enlightened you! Didn't I?

Abdulla: yeah! hwaya ( hwaya = A LOT in Iraqi) wow.... so! a lot of tourists in Kuwait, have you noticed that?

LOL he was trying to change the subject :-P~~~

SNAPS!

Crappy Mood

Is there a personal cure/remedy for crappy mood?

I was in a very crappy mood yesterday, and I was trying so hard not to show it (specially at work) and there wasn't any specific reason for it... just a pile of negative thoughts/energy around me!

First thing I did was switching my cell phone OFF! Anyone who wants to reach me will have to call me at work :-P

To make things worse, I went to Segafredo on my lunch break (WHY NOT MUNCH! I now say)... I ordered shrimp cocktail salad and it smelled SO BAD I could not eat a full bite! Then I ordered Beef Steak Sandwich which was meh! Not that bad, but not that good either... I kept staring at MUNCH thinking WHY WHY didn't I go there! I am craving MUNCH right now as I am typing this hehehehe!

I went home and had an appointment for hair trim, I was bored doing Sudoku and waiting for my stylist... she called and told me I am around, can I come in early... I was like YES! To be quiet honest, it kinda lifted up my mood.. the haircut that is.

Then I decided to listen to some music, which also helped... but I was till in that crappy mood! ARGHHHHHH

I saw my sister and brother in law later in the evening, they were going to Shuwaikh and I told them I want to tag along... they are shopping for their house. So we went to Sun City (A place I love... LOVE LOVE) and checked Arte Casa.. I have not been there for over a year... and man that place CHANGED! They have some SEXY bathrooms on the upper floor I was in LOVE! And my mood got better..

My brother in law then wanted to go to ABYAT... Apparently, he has been going there with my sister a lot, and they try to play mind games with the security guard in the parking lot... I think he officially HATES them LOL... They, for example, would pretend they want to go wrong side in the parking and he would be waving NO NO THIS WAY or pretend they want to exit from the entrance and the other way around... and that man really takes it seriously I was laughing my head off at his facial expressions! My mood was getting better and better.

When we decided to get KDD soft ice cream the place was closed :-( *sobs*

When I came back home, I was thinking MAN THAT WAS FUN! But then again I got back to my crappy mood!

I woke up today in milder case of crappy mood but still its CRAPPY MOOD + I switched off my phone AGAIN!! Help! Ideas? I wanna get out of this crappy mood ASAP!!!

COPYCAT

Earlier today one of the readers commented on my blog and told me that he read almost exactly the same post as mine "Bon Appetit". I asked him for the link, and checked it out for myself... and OH MY GOD! That blogger did not even bother to change most of it... but added some lines here and there to make it a bit different.... I have saved it in JPEG format so you can click on it and compare! I even commented on her blog... she deleted the whole post! I went back and check and to my surprise she wrote another post under the title 'Carpe Diem'. Now if you check the entry to my blog you will read:

"Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May" is a poem by Robert Herrick. This poem portrays our existence on earth, and that people age as life goes on, and everything becomes boundless. Herrick here urges people to take advantage of youth and energy while they may! The poem is in the genre of carpe diem, to seize the day.

Bon Appetit

I was having dinner (at a party) last night... and of course the setting is a HUGE buffet, so my sister was walking behind me... I usually head to the Pasta Stand or the Saj sandwiches Lady!!! Last night was a different case the food choices were irresistible and looked HMMM HMMM GOOD! But... yes, there is a "BUT"... a woman with a huge "BUTT" was in front of me, so the story goes like this...

Me (to my sister): Ohhh that dish over there look good, I want to have some of that...
My Sis: Which one?
Me: That...... (I paused) no no I changed my mind!

(The woman in front of me was digging her spoon in that dish while waiting in line, and telling the lady with her to try it... and she did, using their own silverware!)

I could not hold it in me..

Me: Excuse me! There are serving spoons! Dont use your own silverware please (and then I said it again in Arabic... just in case!)

Of course I was ignored, my sister was disgusted as well!!!

Then again, those two women in front of us were using their own silverware... and stuffing their plates like there is no tomorrow! This is why I HATE BUFFETS! Their plates turned into a huge mountain of mixed food, Kubbah, Jereesh, Marag, Rice, Shrimps, Sauces, Salad, Stuffed Grape Leaves... AND MUCH MORE!

And as we are walking.... and me getting disgusted with every step I take forward, they are tasting and eating while in line, and I think she ate something that she obviously did not like much, took her spoon and took off that food off her plate on to the table on the serving spoon rest/plate! I went "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" but I was talking to my sister.... She then turned to me, but I could only see her profile and said

BUTT Lady: ana ma 7a6aita 3al smaa6... 7a6aita 3ala esa7an (I didnt put it on the table, I throw it in the plate)

Me (thinking smaa6!! LOL wain ga3deen): ee ee (Yeah Yeah... I said that to ignore her and because I was not in the mood to get into an argument)

BUTT Lady: EE EE? WAI3EE!!! (she cursed at me...!!! WTF)

Me: hahahahahhaha tewya3 ebleees!!!! (cursing the devil LOL)

She wasn't an old lady, and I could have said something back to her... but I really was not in the mood or in the right state of mind to argue with her, and decided to rise above leaving it to Karma! And guess what? She got angrier LOL!

Some people are disgustingly weird!

Randy Pausch

This is a very moving video! It reminded me of Tarek, my cousin who passed away earlier this year and suffered from pancreatic cancer! May his soul rests in peace.

The video below is called "The Last Lecture" given by Pausch!

I cried so much while watching this video! This man is such an inspiration! He is so brave and full of life. I admire him. He is also about few weeks younger than Tarek.

You can read more about him/The Last Lecture by clicking here.

Tears!

I think... well, hmm I believe I have an eye lash growing inside of my right eye! I even saw that eyelash/hair.. I was too afraid to take it out (OUCH!) so I went in to see an optometrist.

He really did not explain to me why I have this hair inside of my eyes! He said he could not see it! Even worse? He made fun of me and talked to me with a strict tone almost ALMOST saying that I was imagining things!!! HOW DARE HE! He was actualy rude saying his equipments are way better than me and that there was NOTHING in my eye!!!! I was angry LOL! I swear its there... my sister saw it! My cousin and my friend too. Well, anyhow... back to the subject, the doctor performed a Tear Break Up Time (TUBT) test. Basically, he inserted some sort of thin little fluorescent dye/paper into my eyes to observe the tear layer of both eyes. He explained that test help determine how long it takes for tears to break up on the front of the eye after your blink. My tears dry out in a second or less! He told me I have DRY eyes because the sooner the tears dissipate the dryer your eyes are. A normal TBUT is 15 seconds. If my TUBT was seven or six seconds I have to blink twice as much... but with my one second I guess I have to close my eyes all the time and sleep... skip work for that matter LOL!

Thankfully! I do not have to live with blinking every second! I am using Tears Naturale Free drops to moisten my eyes! Artificial tears so to speak! So I am literally carrying tears in my purse all the time! Don't agitate me or else I will cry... artificially or not! Still... I have tears on the go! :-P

I do drink lots of water daily, but I also have to consider few things, such as avoiding to stay infront of the computer for long hours, which is kinda hard in my case considering my job and all... also, when turning on the A/C in the car, I should not let the air hit my eyes directly!

The Answer

She reasoned that by killing her sister the man would come to her sister's funeral!

According to the myth, if that was your answer, you think like a psychopath.

This was allegedly a test used to see if one has the same mentality as a killer because many arrested serial killers took part in the study and answered the question correctly.... so its described as a classic sociopath/psychotic behavior.

Congratulations to all of you who answered it correctly LOL

Psychotic, isn't it!

Answer this one please!

My cousin sent me this by email... I would like to know how you all think! Give it a shot!

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister? [Give this some
thought before you answer]
