"Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May" is a poem by Robert Herrick. This poem portrays our existence on earth, and that people age as life goes on, and everything becomes boundless. Herrick here urges people to take advantage of youth and energy while they may! The poem is in the genre of carpe diem, to seize the day.

Are English speakers verbally insane????

Well... English is an Indo-European language belonging to the West Germanic branch; the official language of Britain and the United States and most of the commonwealth countries. It is used extensively as a second language and as an official language throughout the world
...... OK, so!?

Well... as Churchill said; ‘English is a language very easy to speak badly.’

Some people don't know how to use the words; There, Their and They're!
Well... most English speakers pronounce those words the same way; so its really hard for someone who don't speak English well to judge in which situation to use which word/spelling.

So...
Their is no one home.... Wrong!
My Manager wants to know if there busy... Wrong again!
The dogs are happily chewing on they're bones... no no no! WRONG!!!

I can't believe they're leaving their children there alone! Voila! That's Right

True... English is the most spoken language in our planet! But let me tell you the truth, English can be a crazy language!

You see;
1. There isn't egg in eggplant!
2. No butter in buttermilk!!
3. Do you see any grape in a grapefruit???
4. Neither pine nor apple in a pineapple!!!!

Even better.....
1. English muffins weren't invented in England
2. French fries weren't invented in France
3. Danish pastries weren't invented in Denmark
4. A guinea pig is neither a pig nor from Guinea

(Shudder)

Can you see a lipstick as in a lip that sticks?
or a foot that prints to give footprints???

If tooth plural is teeth, what is the plural of booth? Shouldn't it bee beeth? and the same goes for.....1 goose= 2 geese, then 1 moose = 2 meese?

And why is it people lately are referring to fish in the plural sense as fishes?
The word is still FISH!! Then we should all change deer to deers, which I've actually heard.
(the list goes on and on; fruits, homeworks, emails....etc)

And then there's the disappearance of the irregular past, e.g. swimmed, dived, dealed, etc instead of swam, dove, dealt. Sometimes, I just want to cry out loud!

I don't get how a slim chance and a fat chance mean the same thing LOL!

I mean come on tell me.... Which witch is the good witch?!!!

(Sigh!)

So what's the strangest word you heard/read today?

Mine is Discombobulate! I never used it in my life!

Oh well.. I hope you enjoyed my post today.
