"Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May" is a poem by Robert Herrick. This poem portrays our existence on earth, and that people age as life goes on, and everything becomes boundless. Herrick here urges people to take advantage of youth and energy while they may! The poem is in the genre of carpe diem, to seize the day.

For Marzouq

This post is for Marzouq!

Will the real Adriana Lima please stand up?

I don't think I have ever seen Adriana look so plain and reserved. Normally she's wearing an ultra short mini, her hair has that 'just got out of bed' look, and she's giving us that signature pout.

If you are wondering what happen, she got married.

Why do these chicks get married, or start dating someone, and lose their identity?

SILKERI

I recently bought one of those 100-ways-to-wear skirt from SILKERI when she reserved a booth during FIVE60's Flea Market last December.

Kerry, who sells those skirts (along with other silk and cashmere collections) was so helpful and so nice. She would show us on the mannequin the different ways to wear that wrap skirt.... and her prices are competitive! I think the skirts' prices run from KD15 up, depending on the silk they have. Mine was 80% silk and was about KD18-20. Its a steal! To add to all this, Kerry said with all the new regulation laws for the weights on luggage when you travel.. you have ONE piece that can serve you up in 100 ways! Cool or what?

I found a couple of videos on youtube about the same skirts (it comes in three lengths) SILKERI sells, just so you have an idea about it....

"Burqini" & "Hijood"

First, the burqini, now the hijood. The Australian designer of the full-length swimwear for conservative Muslim women has created special headgear for athletes seeking to win glory without compromising their faith.

Bahrain's Olympic sprinter Rogaya Al Ghasara is set to become the first athlete to compete in the "hijood", a combination of the words "hijab" or veil and "hood", on Tuesday in Beijing.

Designed by Aheda Zanetti, managing director of Australian firm Ahiida, the hijood is breathable, fits snuggly like a hood and covers the hair and neck in accordance with Islamic custom!

Banana Republic

Banana Republic opened in Kuwait :-)

Many people will be writing about it, but I have decided to take a different approach and write about its history...
Source: Wikipedia

The original Banana Republic was founded by Mel &Patricia Ziegler in 1978. It was a two-store safari and travel-themed clothing company. The majority of sales came from its eccentric catalog, which presented high-end and unique items with chatty, usually fictional, back stories from exotic locations, as well as more pedestrian high-volume products deliberately spiced up with a similar treatment. The company competed directly with the J. Peterman catalog later satirized on the TV show Seinfeld.

As Banana Republic expanded its retail operation, it became known for the themed decoration in its stores, often featuring authentic elements, such as real Jeeps and foliage, as well as atmospheric elements, such as fog and steam.
Gap Inc. acquired Banana Republic in 1983, eventually re-branding it as a mainstream luxury clothing retailer. The eccentric tourist-oriented items were phased out and were replaced with more of the "casual luxury"-type items for which the brand is currently known. For a time, Banana Republic ate into Gap's consumer base. To set itself apart from Gap as a more up market brand, Banana Republic occasionally buys and refurbishes historic buildings for its retail locations. Today the company operates more than 400 Banana Republic stores in the US (including Puerto Rico), and 24 stores in Canada. It has also recently opened 2 stores in Tokyo, Japan.

Banana Republic offers clothing in women's regular and petite sizes as well as in men's.

Recently, some men's stores were converted to sell petite sizes as well. It has also recently signed franchising deals in Malaysia, Singapore, and the UAE.
In 2007, the first Banana Republic store will open at the The Avenues mall in Kuwait and Grand Indonesia Shopping Town in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Banana Republic announced that it will open stores in Korea and the UK in January 2008.

Makeover

Summer is here.. so give yourself a makeover from head to toe :-)

First learn to love your skin and body... love it and take care of it. If you don't have skin routine START ONE NOW! Just go out and spend some good money on good brand for skincare product and start a routine of having to take care of your skin on daily basis.Ladies! You usually don't mind spending lots of money on shoes, bags, and clothes... so why not on YOUR SKIN!!??! Wear facial masks and apply lotion when needed and after every wash.... this is very important!

Also buy yourself a sun block... Remember, its summer time!

Love yourself.. and love to be healthy! Be at a weight you are comfortable with. Join a gym and work it out... if you cannot afford it then do at least 20 sit-ups in the morning and at night. Go running.. this is totally free!

Eat healthy, drink plenty of water, and sleep at least 8 hours at night :-) Add fruit and vegetables to your daily diet.

After this step, go shop for new summer clothes... OR put things you already have together in new ways.. . mix-and-match.

When this is done, look at your hair and think of what you want to do with it? Straighten it one day, and curl it the other.. have it in a ponytail sometimes... do that and keep on changing the look.... basically start experimenting what you can do with your hair heehee.
Take good care of your nails.. its summer time! You are swimming a lot, the weather is not helping, and the dryness is doing a number on you.

Put on makeup lightly in the day and a bit more at night. Let your face breath.. sometimes you go minimal and all you need is lip-gloss, eye shadow, and mascara..Spend some money on having a good massage too... its so relaxing!

Remember, when you are healthy on the inside, you will glow on the outside! So stand up straight, tuck in your tummy, and don't forget to wear your white bright smile all day long :-D
