Shahtoosh (also written Shatush) - a Persian word meaning "Pleasure of Kings" - was the name given to a specific kind of shawl, which was woven with the down hair of the Chiru or Tibetan Antelope, by the weavers of Kashmir.

  5. I see you have a category regarding Karma, and that you really like Karma. I hope you will receive your Karma for trading in Shahtoosh. You failed to mention that these are manufactured from the downy undercoat of the Chiru, which must be killed to harvest the fur.

The Chiru is an endangered animal. Please do not participate in the trade of its products. For one thing, it is prohibited by CITES. I know many in the Middle East feel they have the right to do anything they wish, but some things are simply wrong.

I do like Karma, yes :-)
But I dont like how you "hope" that I will receive my Karma for trading Shahtoosh! You are too negative for writing me this and hoping for Karma to get me!!! You contradict yourself!

And plus... you are TOO judgmental! I know people from all over who want or already own a shahtoosh! Its not just the middle east!!!!!!

  7. Killing animals for fashion is wrong. Killing endangered animals for any reason wrong. Killing endangered animals for fashion is about the worst kind of wrong there is in this world.

  17. the sellers and buyers of shahtoosh
shawls are pathetic excuses of human beings. tghe poachers who kill these small animals have been killing pregnant females at the calving grounds. your greed (the sellers) and your selfishness (the buyers) are ensuring this gentle animal will soon be extinct. you are all criminals and i hope you are caught or meet the same fate as the poor who are killed.

  18. you sellers and buyers of shahtoosh are really pathetic. the poachers are killing pregnant females at their calving grounds. the greedy sellers and self-absorbed buyers are ensuring the extinction of this gentle animal. i hope you all are caught and prosecuted for your crimes. better yet, that you meet a worse fate then these defenseless animals who are slaughtered for your vanity and greed.
